The Houston Symphony has named NANCY GILES chief development officer, beginning October 22. This marks a return for Giles, as she had previously worked at the Houston Symphony in several capacities for twelve years. Most recently, Giles was director of development at Houston’s Alley Theatre for nine years. Prior to the Alley Theatre, she served for two years as vice president and chief development officer of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Houston. At the Houston Symphony, she had been director of corporate and foundation relations, director of individual giving, and director of development. Giles was previously director of development at the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. At the Houston Symphony, she succeeds David Chambers, who left to assume an equivalent post at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
