Upbeat revenue and box-office news for Symphony NH

At its annual meeting on September 18, Symphony NH reported growth in ticket sales and contributed revenue. The Nashua, New Hampshire-based orchestra described a 26 percent increase in total revenue over the past three seasons, with a 19 percent increase in contributed and 32 percent increase in ticket sales. The orchestra stated that it has paid off its loans in full and will expand its budget this season to include performances in Nashua and Concord, as well as additional community and education programs. During the meeting, the orchestra also announced that its two-year music director search is scheduled to conclude in spring 2019. The nine finalists are Yuga Cohler, Eric Garcia, Thomas Heuser, Roger Kalia, Enrico Lopez-Yañez, Scott Parkman, Sameer Patel, Stefano Sarzani, and Lidiya Yankovskaya. Symphony NH opened its 2018-19 season on September 29 with works of Mozart and Tchaikovsky, and Mark O’Connor’s Fiddle Concerto and Strings and Threads Suite with violinists Mark and Maggie O’Connor.
