Artistic: Venice Symphony

Florida’s Venice Symphony has appointed TROY QUINN as music director. His contract begins this season and runs through 2022-23. Quinn is currently in his second season as music director of the Owensboro Symphony in Kentucky, with a contract continuing through 2023. He recently completed a three-year tenure as music director of the Juneau Symphony in Alaska. Quinn serves on the conducting faculty at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and was previously a faculty member at Providence College in Rhode Island. Quinn’s engagements have included performances with U.S. and European orchestras, including the London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Boise Philharmonic. A native of Connecticut, Quinn pursued a bachelor of arts degree from Providence College, and earned a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, studying conducting and voice. He completed his doctorate in conducting at USC’s Thornton School of Music. Quinn has performed and recorded with noted pop and rock artists, and has worked extensively in television and film.
