California’s Santa Rosa Symphony is partnering with Carlton Senior Living to perform four pops concerts at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts. The new Sunday afternoon Carlton Senior Living Symphony Pops Series, led by the Santa Rosa Symphony Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz, launched on October 14 with a Motown-themed program and will include a holiday program in December, a tribute to Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli in February, and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, and Paul McCartney in April. Each performance includes a preconcert discussion with Berkowitz. Carlton Senior Living, which owns and operates eleven northern California senior living communities, will soon break ground on new rental apartments a short walk from the Luther Burbank Center in the Larkfield area of Santa Rosa, scheduled to open in the spring of 2020. “In all of our communities, our residents are very engaged with their local neighborhoods,” said Dave Coluzzi, President of Carlton Senior Living.
