Oregon’s Eugene Symphony has scheduled several events in connection with its December 6 program led by guest conductor Tito Muñoz at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts. The “Red Violin” program will feature violin soloist Chloë Hanslip in the Chaconne from John Corigliano’s 1998 score to the film The Red Violin and Camille Saint-Saëns’s Havanaise, and the orchestra will also perform Buxtehude’s Chaconne and Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony. A November 30 “Symphony Yoga” class at Wild Light Yoga Center in Eugene featured music from the December 6 concert. On December 3, the orchestra’s Symphony Happy Hour at First National Taphouse featured a casual presentation led by Muñoz that included highlights from the concert; and a preview concert immediately before the December 6 concert will feature a discussion with guest conductor Muñoz and Hanslip.
