“The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra announced their new acting executive director—Kimberly Bredemeier,” writes Mike Hartz in Thursday’s (12/6) Evansville Courier & Press (Indiana). “She’s replacing Gary Wagner, who stepped down in August, spokeswoman Chris Harp said. Bredemeir was previously the director of operations for the Philharmonic for 15 seasons. In that time, Bredemeir oversaw performances of the Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus at The Victory and other locations…. The organization is now looking to fill her former position as well as a music director. Alfred Savia is stepping down as conductor and music director after the completion of the 2019-20 season after 30 years. The national search is ongoing. Bredemeier will be responsible for all operational aspects of the organization and implementing the policies set by the board of directors…. ‘Kim brings a tremendous amount of training, experience and talent to this position, and therefore, the transition will be seamless,’ board president Mark Powers said…. Bredemeier has a bachelor of science in music management from the University of Evansville with percussion major and piano and classical guitar minor. She is also a former Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra member and guest lectured at the University of Evansville in their Music Management programs.”
