Artis—Naples, home of the Naples Philharmonic in southwest Florida, has reported an operating surplus, with revenue exceeding expenses by $2.9 million, for the 2017-18 fiscal year. Earned revenue on the operating budget of $34 million came in large part from subscription purchases, especially the Naples Philharmonic Pops, with more than 6,000 subscribers. Growth in investments along with campaign gifts helped the organization’s endowment reach $100 million. The orchestra has posted its annual report online at http://artisnaples.org/about/statements/annual-report/17-18/. Artis—Naples CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen said, “Accomplishing an operating surplus year after year positions Artis—Naples to respond responsibly and nimbly to the evolving cultural needs of our community. As we plan for the future, having confidence in our organizational stability is key to our artistic growth and financial health.”
