THERESA LEONARD will join Colorado’s Aspen Music Festival and School as director of the Edgar Stanton Audio Recording Center, starting in June 2019. She will oversee the organization’s recordings and broadcasts as well as its summer training program for audio engineers. The center’s engineers record, provide sound reinforcement, and offer post-production editing for the festival’s more than 100 annual performances. Leonard was director of audio at Canada’s Banff Centre for the arts for nearly 21 years, where she was instrumental in expanding the audio education program while also overseeing the center’s recording and audio post-production projects. Leonard has produced and engineered Juno Award-winning and -nominated recordings for many labels. She has held positions with Bang & Olufsen in Denmark, New York University Steinhardt School, and the Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics summer workshop. Leonard was presented the Audio Engineering Society’s AES Fellowship Award in 2013. She holds a master of music degree in sound recording from McGill University, and bachelor’s degrees in music and education.
