The Cleveland Institute of Music has promoted two staff members: JERROD PRICE has been named executive director of preparatory, enrollment, and pathway programs, and MADELINE LUCAS TOLLIVER assumes the title of senior director, artistic and facilities operations.

As executive director of preparatory, enrollment, and pathway programs, Jerrod Price, who will continue to serve as associate dean for admissions and enrollment management, will return CIM’s “Prep” classes to their roots as a music program for pre-college and adult students of all ages. This move unites the Preparatory and Conservatory divisions and serves students as young as three years old through CIM’s pre-college Young Artist Program and Musical Pathway Fellowship (pre-college program for African American and Latinx youth). A native of Munroe Falls, Ohio, Price went to CIM in 2017 from Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, where he was director of admission and financial aid for the Interlochen Arts Camp and Interlochen Arts Academy. Prior to Interlochen he spent ten years in admissions and financial aid for music schools at the University of Denver, Rice University, and Indiana University. He holds a master’s degree in trumpet performance from Indiana University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron.

Madeline Lucas Tolliver assumes the title of senior director, artistic and facilities operations, adding responsibility for all building operations to her portfolio, which also includes artistic operations. Tolliver will manage all concert-related production and artistic operations (including logistics for recitals, CIM Orchestra rehearsals and concerts, opera performances, master classes, competitions, and events), and piano inventory and maintenance, as well as facilities management, building security, and parking. A CIM alumna and flutist (BM ’09, MM ’11, Smith), Tolliver is a native of Charlotte, NC, and has been on the institute staff since 2011. She began at CIM as ensembles manager and added duties in woodwind chamber music coordination and ensemble library management. She was promoted in July 2017 to oversee all performance operations and serve as interim executive director of Prep. Primarily a flutist specializing in contemporary music, Tolliver is also a pianist.
