North Carolina’s Greensboro Symphony Orchestra will perform its first masterworks concert in April 2020 in the new 3,000-seat Tanger Center in downtown Greensboro, giving a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, led by Music Director Dmitry Sitkovetsky. The orchestra has been performing at Greensboro’s Dana Auditorium. The concert on April 4 will also represent the first performance by the newly formed Greensboro Symphony Master Chorale, and the program will include Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. The orchestra will perform its final performance at the Dana Auditorium in February 2020, in a program including Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 (“Farewell”). “The 2019-2020 Masterworks Series is exciting from beginning to end,” said Lisa Crawford, GSO President and CEO. “It is a fitting way to celebrate the Symphony’s 60th Anniversary and the move into our new home in downtown Greensboro.”
