The Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago has announced two administrative appointments: MICHAEL ZAJAKOWSKI as marketing manager and KARI SHAFFER as patron services manager.

Before joining the Grant Park Music Festival, Michael Zajakowski was an independent photo editor, photographer, and visual journalism educator at two Chicago universities. For twenty years, he was a photo and video editor at the Chicago Tribune. He has co-curated two exhibits at Roosevelt University’s Gage Gallery, “Faith, Focus, Flight: A John H. White Retrospective” and “Crime Then and Now: Through the Lens of the Chicago Tribune,” and photo-edited two books, Chicago Portraits and Chicago Bulls: A Decade-by-Decade History.

Kari Shaffer has thirteen years of experience in theater patron communication, service, and conflict resolution for a variety of organizations. She goes to the Grant Park Music Festival from the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, where she managed multiple subscription series, festivals, and other ticketed performances for the past four years as event operations coordinator. Previously, she was box office and group sales manager at Pittsburgh’s City Theatre Company.
