The Amarillo Symphony in Texas has appointed ANDREW HAY as executive director. Hay most recently served as Amarillo Symphony’s interim executive director, succeeding Corey Cowart, who departed in November 2018 to become executive director of the San Antonio Symphony. Hay’s formal educational background is in management, philosophy, the arts, and theology, the latter being the subject of his Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Before joining the Amarillo Symphony, Hay was employed as a director of a variety of enterprises, most recently Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo and Denver Seminary. A native of Littleton, Colorado, Hay and his family moved to Amarillo in 2013. Jacomo Bairos is music director of the Amarillo Symphony.
