“It’s another exciting day at Grover Cleveland Elementary as students get to experience a virtual reality orchestra,” states a news video on WJET (Erie, PA). “This week is the first time the Erie Philharmonic made a public launch of their new technology. This morning, third-grade students had the chance to put on a pair of goggles and get an interactive chance of seeing the orchestra. ‘We wanted this to be the first experience that a student gets,’ says Erie Philharmonic Executive Director Steve Weiser. ‘Rather than having to point to a violin on a piece of paper, we can point to the actual person playing the violin in our orchestral, and whether it’s a spark for music or technology, we just wanted to make sure that we are doing our part to help change these students’ lives as early as possible.’ The Erie Philharmonic will be at the school all throughout the week so every student has a chance to experience the concept up close.”
