“The La Crosse Symphony Orchestra has named a new executive director. Eva Marie Restel [in photo] will lead the organization starting April 1st,” reads an unsigned Tuesday (3/26) report at TV station WKBT (La Crosse, WI). “Restel is a ceramic artist and owner of Restel & Sons, LLC, which creates commissioned and non-commissioned art. She has also served on the [orchestra’s] board for six years, chaired La Crosse’s downtown arts festival ARTSPIRE, and has served on several other boards in the community. ‘We’re excited for the arts experience, creativity and passion Eva Marie brings to the post,’ said board president Jay Jaehnke in a news release. ‘She’s an advocate for the arts, and she knows our organization well. She is the right leader to take the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra to a new level.’ ‘La Crosse is a special place to live and I’m excited to be the executive director of one of La Crosse’s great longstanding organizations, the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra,’ said Restel in the news release. ‘I anticipate sold out performances at the symphony as we work to fully showcase the powerful live experience of our master musicians conducted by Maestro Alexander Platt.’ ”
