“The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra will celebrate its 45th anniversary with a 2019 Summermusik festival featuring classical guitar legend Pepe Romero and the Silver-Garburg piano duo,” reads an unsigned Sunday (3/31) Cincinnati Enquirer article. “An evening of French music from a private club overlooking downtown Cincinnati, a concert of music about water performed by classical and bluegrass musicians … alongside the Ohio River and a battle of the bands (strings vs. brass) at a Blue Ash brewery are among the season’s other highlights. The season finale concert will include a piece composed by Mozart’s father that features soloists on bagpipe and hurdy-gurdy…. The CCO started the Summermusik festival in 2015….  The main stage series with the full 32-piece orchestra remains at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Over-the-Rhine…. Concerts [are also] held at popular bars and restaurants.” Other events include a concert at Cincinnati Nature Center’s Groesbeck Lodge that includes a tour of the Nature Center’s new native plants greenhouse with a conservationist, and “Woodwindstock,” a program curated by CCO Principal Oboe Christopher Philpotts and guitarist Roger Klug celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock with songs from Hendrix, Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, and Sly and the Family Stone.
