Penny Van Horn, board chair of the Solti Foundation U.S., and Elizabeth Buccheri, artistic and awards committee chair, have announced the ten recipients of 2019 Solti Foundation Career Assistance Awards. They are Conner Gray Covington, Aram Demirjian, Joshua Hong, Stilian Kirov, Benjamin Manis, Lee Mills, Gemma New, Stefano Sarzani, Stephanie Rhodes Russell, and Kensho Watanabe. Amounts vary for each Career Assistance Award. The Foundation also awards the annual Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award to a single American conductor 38 years of age or younger, which comes with a $30,000 grant. Previous recipients of the latter award include Yaniv Dinur, Roderick Cox, Karina Canellakis, Vladimir Kulenovic, and Cristian Macelaru.
