H. Colin Slim’s Stravinsky in the Americas: Transatlantic Tours and Domestic Excursions from Wartime Los Angeles (1925-1945) has been published by the University of California Press. The University of Chicago Press has published A Portrait in Four Movements: The Chicago Symphony under Barenboim, Boulez, Haitink, and Muti by the late Andrew Patner, edited by John R. Schmidt and Douglas W. Shadle. Tara Browner and Thomas L. Riis are editors of a book of essays entitled Rethinking American Music published University of Illinois Press. Also out from University of Illinois Press is Katherine Baber’s Leonard Bernstein and the Language of Jazz. In May, University of North Texas Press will publish Alexander Tumanov’s memoir A Life in Music: From the Soviet Union to Canada: Memoirs of a Madrigal Ensemble Singer.
