New England Conservatory, based in Boston, has appointed ELIZABETH DIONNE as vice president for finance and MICHAEL SARRA as vice president for communications.

Elizabeth Dionne joins New England Conservatory from the College of the Holy Cross, where she served as the director of finance and assistant treasurer since August 2015. Much of Dionne’s career was with KPMG LLP in St. Louis, Missouri where she was a senior manager in the audit practice providing services to higher education, non-profit, and governmental clients. She worked for the University of Wisconsin System as director of internal audit, and subsequently as director of investment finance for CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wisconsin. Dionne earned a B.S. and M.S. in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis and is a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor.

Michael Sarra is currently associate vice president at Boston’s Emerson College, where he leads the college’s marketing efforts. At Emerson, he oversaw a comprehensive repositioning of the institution’s brand and a modernization of its marketing and communications strategies, campaigns, and collateral. Sarra was previously director of marketing, communications, and visitor experience at New York University, where he was responsible for externally-facing marketing and communications efforts, including major events and the university’s visitor center. Prior to that, he served in marketing and communications roles at the University of Connecticut, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and a master of arts degree in higher education administration.
