Florida’s Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra has named DAVID HYSLOP interim executive director. Hyslop goes to the Orlando Philharmonic with a 54-year career in arts management that includes chief executive officer for the Minnesota Orchestra (1991-2003), St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (1978-1991), and Oregon Symphony (1972-1978). Hyslop has served as interim executive director of several organizations including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Stockton Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and others. A search committee has been formed to hire a full-time executive director for the Orlando Philharmonic. Christopher Barton stepped down as executive director in March. Eric Jacobsen is music director of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, which currently performs at Bob Carr Theater and, beginning in fall 2020, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
