JOHNNIA STIGALL has joined the Cleveland Institute of Music as manager of the Young Artist, Musical Pathway Fellowship, and Pre-College programs for the Preparatory and Continuing Education division. Stigall goes to CIM from the Sphinx Organization, where she managed the National Alliance for Audition Support, a $1.8 million, four-year initiative by the Sphinx Organization, New World Symphony, and the League of American Orchestras to increase diversity in American orchestras by assisting musicians of color in professional orchestral auditions. At CIM, Stigall will guide pre-college students and their families through an advanced classical music education by developing new programs and measures. Stigall was previously community engagement coordinator for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; manager of youth orchestras and wind ensembles for the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University; youth orchestras coordinator of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; and graduate teaching assistant at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Stigall is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she earned bachelor and master’s degrees in viola performance and a master’s degree in arts administration.
