The League of American Orchestras’ Emerging Leaders Program offers a powerful curriculum to cultivate and strengthen the capabilities of high-potential orchestra professionals. Open to administrative managers, musicians, and conductors, the program seeks individuals who wish to grow as leaders in their own orchestras and to serve as champions in the field for years to come. Eleven individuals will be selected for eight months of individualized learning during the 2019-20 season. The program includes one-on-one coaching, three in-depth seminars with leadership experts, three virtual convenings, site visits with leaders and institutions from outside the orchestra field, free individual registration to the League’s 2020 Mid-Winter Managers Meeting and 2020 National Conference, and the opportunity to develop and present a capstone project in conjunction with the League’s National Conference. Participants pay $750, and their orchestras make a matching payment of between $1,100 to $2,750, depending on the orchestra’s budget size. The League is committed to furthering equity, diversity, and inclusion, and especially encourages applications from people who are historically underrepresented in the orchestra field.

The application deadline is August 16, 2019. Find details about eligibility, application requirements, program schedule, and more here.
