Lakeside, which draws 150,000 visitors a year to [Ohio’s] Marblehead peninsula, is an idyllic mile-square, dotted with cottages and gorgeous gardens. During the season the town offers daily lectures, performances, shuffleboard, sailing and swimming in Lake Erie…. In the Musicalympics [youth] concert Thursday at the 1928-built Hoover Auditorium, [Lakeside Symphony Music Director Daniel] Meyer highlighted how teamwork, discipline and practice are as much in play in sports as they are in music making. Musicians wore sports gear” and Meyer described a Bach Fugue as “a musical relay race.” The Lakeside Symphony’s season-closing concert on August 16 will feature pianist Angelin Chang in Saint Saëns’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
