The League of American Orchestras has been collecting data from the orchestral field since 1946, and its Orchestra Statistical Report (OSR) is the largest and most comprehensive orchestra data set in the United States. The Orchestra Statistical Report is a case of orchestral crowd-sourcing: the information that each League-member orchestra provides to the OSR survey helps all orchestras—and helps their own. The deadline for the 2017-18 OSR is Friday, September 13. Members of the League who complete this year’s OSR receive a detailed benchmarking report with financial and operating data about peer orchestras. And with last year’s redesign, it’s quicker than ever to fill out. Only League members have the opportunity to contribute to—and use—this unique resource.
