The Philadelphia Orchestra has launched a free ticket program for School District of Philadelphia teachers, administrators, and staff for the 2019-20 season. The program, called APPLE (Appreciation Program for PhilaSD Leaders in Education) offers School District employees free general admission tickets to concerts throughout the 2019–20 season. The free-ticket program builds on the orchestra’s programs with the school district, including School Concerts, the School Partnership Program, the School Ensemble Program, and the All City Orchestra Fellowship, which are part of the Orchestra’s HEAR (Health, Education, Access, and Research) initiative designed to connect musicians and music with neighbors and neighborhoods. More information is at www.philorch.org/apple. In a press release, Dr. William Hite, superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia, called the APPLE program “truly a milestone in our ongoing and deepening partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra.”
