The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada will open the orchestra’s 2019–20 main season with an all-Stravinsky program featuring The Firebird ballet suite, the single-movement Scherzo fantastique from 1908, and the Violin Concerto with soloist Leonidas Kavakos. The program will be performed September 19-22 at Jones Hall, and the final Sunday matinee performance will be livestreamed, the orchestra’s first online video broadcast of a concert. There will be a pre-concert discussion before each concert led by Carlos Andrés Botero, the orchestra’s musical ambassador. Click here for the September 22 livestream.
