On November 2, North Carolina’s Winston-Salem Symphony will present the third concert in its new Symphony Unbound concert series pairing classical music and other genres, when musicians from the orchestra perform on a program with the Durham-based folk band Hiss Golden Messenger at Ramkat, a club and performance space in downtown Winston-Salem. Audience members will have the opportunity to socialize with Winston-Salem Symphony musicians at the performance, which will feature Hiss Golden Messenger performing music arranged by D.J. Sparr, and the orchestra performing Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale. The first Symphony Unbound concert took place in November 2018 in a sold-out performance featuring the orchestra and folk/bluegrass duo Mandolin Orange; the second, in February 2019, featured the bluegrass band Hank, Pattie & The Current.
