The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has appointed KEVIN LIN as its next concertmaster, effective at the start of the 2020-21 season. The orchestra has had a series of guest concertmasters for the last season and a half. Originally from New York, Lin currently serves as co-leader of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist and recitalist in Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, and the United Kingdom, in addition to performances in the United States. Lin has been guest concertmaster of the Pittsburgh, Houston, and Cincinnati orchestras, London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He was concertmaster and principal second violin in ensembles at the Colburn School and the Curtis Institute of Music. Lin received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Colburn School in Los Angeles and continued his studies at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia as a Mark E. Rubenstein Fellowship recipient. He will appear as guest concertmaster of the Indianapolis Symphony at several concerts in the current season.
