“In his first appointment as the new CEO and president of Colbert Artists, Lee Prinz has brought Martha Bonta on board as the firm’s new VP and artist manager,” reports Susan Elliott in Friday’s (1/10) Musical America (subscription required). “Bonta has been an independent consultant since 2017, when she exited New York Public Radio as an executive producer for WQXR. Prior to that she was for eight years a VP at IMG Artists, overseeing the careers of pianist Leif Ove Andsnes, bassist Edgar Meyer, conductor Joana Carneiro, the Emerson Quartet, and other notables. Prinz, who stepped into his job this year at the behest of retiring Colbert Artists President Charlotte Schroeder, but who has been with the firm since 2003, … [said] ‘Her creativity, professionalism, and experience will certainly contribute to our next successes.’ Prior to working with IMG Artists, Bonta was for five years director of artistic planning and touring for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and, before that, a booking representative for IMG Artists. She has also worked with the New York Philharmonic, Frank Salomon Associates, and Music from Marlboro. She holds a BA in English language and literature from Yale University.”
