California’s Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform at Modesto Junior College Great Valley Museum and Planetarium for a February 15 event entitled “Music Aligns with the Stars.” The concert will feature performances by several MSYO chamber ensembles in the William R. Luebke Planetarium and among nature scenes in the Great Valley Museum. The MSYO and the museum and planetarium have invited area organizations that serve children to attend the concert, and are encouraging community members to take advantage of a “pay it forward” feature that allows ticket purchases on behalf of students who might otherwise not be able to attend. The collaboration between the two Modesto organizations is ongoing; it was launched in 2018 when the Modesto Symphony Orchestra performed Holst’s The Planets accompanied by video footage provided by the planetarium.
