The League of American Orchestras is continuing to track news and post information about COVID-19 preparedness from reliable sources and partners, as a service to the orchestra field. The League will be examining the issues of concert cancellation policies, communications to audiences, staff and workplace preparedness, and financial aid, among many others, that may affect orchestras due to the coronavirus.

At the coronavirus preparedness page of the League’s website, you will find the guidance and information that the League has curated so far. Current resources include a dedicated discussion group on the League360 platform for members to exchange questions and information regarding the coronavirus outbreak as well as sample communications from orchestras with their stakeholders regarding concert plans and wellness precautions. The League is highlighting Centers for Disease Control guidance that informs immediate decisions orchestras will make regarding international artists traveling to the U.S. for concert engagements, as well as plans for international tours and staff travel.

This is a rapidly changing situation, and recommended actions may be highly specific to your location. On the League’s site, you will find links to state and local health agencies for guidance specific to your location.

As of now, the League is proceeding with its planned events and gatherings in the months ahead, but will let you know if that changes.
