North Dakota’s Minot Symphony Orchestra will perform music composed for videogames on its March 7 concert at Minot State University, led by Music Director Efraín Amaya. Music on the “Fun and Games” program will include Julius Fucik’s Entry Of The Gladiators, Jessica Curry’s Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture Suite, Austin Wintory’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Journey: Nascence & Apotheosis, The Banner Saga, Geoff Knorr and Roland Rizzo’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm, and Wilbert Roget’s Lara Croft Overture. Orchestra members will dress as videogame characters, with concertgoers invited to do so as well. There will be a cosplay contest in junior (18 years and under) and senior (age 19 and older) categories. Also performing on the program in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue will be pianist Sean Bostrom, a student at Minot State University. The Minot Symphony, comprising student, community, and professional musicians, performs six concerts per season at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. The orchestra’s executive director is Ellen Fenner.
