In response to growing concerns surrounding the coronavirus, Connecticut’s New Haven Symphony Orchestra will livestream its Thursday, March 5 concert, providing access to the performance beyond attending in person. The livestream—the first for the New Haven Symphony—begins at 7:30 p.m. on March 5 and is free of charge. Ticket holders who are unable to attend the concert in person because of coronavirus concerns may exchange tickets for a future concert. Music Director will lead the orchestra in Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Florence Price’s Symphony No.1, and Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with soloist Oliver Herbert. The orchestra states, “We are grateful to the NHSO musicians as well as Guest Artist Oliver Herbert, who have agreed work with us to provide increased access to this beautiful music. The livestream will be available to anyone who wishes to view it and we hope, despite the circumstances surrounding its necessity, that ultimately the Symphony will be able to reach even more listeners.” Visit the Yale School of Music’s online portal to watch the concert.
