The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Eastman School of Music have announced plans to live-stream their education concert to participating schools on March 13 at 10:15 a.m. ET. Given the state of emergency imposed by Governor Cuomo, RPO and Eastman agreed to cancel busing children to Eastman Theatre this week. Instead, RPO will perform the concert without an in-person audience, and Eastman will provide the integrated technology to livestream to the schools. This year’s concert for intermediate students is entitled “Get Out the Vote!” inspired by Rochester native and women’s suffrage advocate Susan B. Anthony; Herb Smith will guest conduct the concert, during which the orchestra’s sections each make their case before the students. The RPO will send participating schools an e-mail for the live-stream link and password. Additional schools may apply by e-mail to access the concert at bbrown@rpo.org no later than 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 12.
