League of American Orchestras President and CEO Jesse Rosen was among 150 nonprofit leaders nationwide invited to participate in a March 25 call with President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and the U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams regarding the coronavirus crisis. Charitable sector leaders were briefed on key elements of the most recent COVID-19 relief package. White House officials affirmed the importance of the charitable sector, emphasized the capacity of the nonprofit sector to find creative ways to support communities in the midst of social distancing, and pledged to ongoing consideration of how federal support can build the sector’s capacity to comfort those whose lives have been disrupted.
