The Philadelphia Orchestra is presenting a virtual chamber music concert by orchestra members performing from their homes on Thursday, April 16, at 8 p.m. ET. The performance is part of the orchestra’s virtual BeethovenNOW initiative of new and previously unreleased content themed to Beethoven, WATCH, LISTEN, LEARN, available at www.philorch.org/virtual. In addition, there will be a panel discussion with Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin on April 14 hosted by President and CEO Matías Tarnopolsky via Zoom. Associate Principal Horn Jeffrey Lang will conduct a master class on April 15. Every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, audiences can listen to previously unreleased audio of Philadelphia Orchestra concerts via its Listen On Demand platform. Friday, April 17, will feature Daniil Trifonov’s performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1, led by Yannick Nézet-Séguin in January 2020, as well as Emanuel Ax’s performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 3, led by Karina Canellakis in February 2020. April 18 will feature Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with soloist Yefim Bronfman from January 2020, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 (“Emperor”) with soloist Daniil Trifonov from February 2020, and Susanna Mälkki leading the orchestra in Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Gil Shaham from November 2019.
