The Omaha Symphony and the Council Bluffs Guild of the Omaha Symphony have received a $90,000 grant from the Charles E. Lakin Foundation to be used for education programming for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. In addition, the grant supports community engagement programs such as public concerts in areas where access to live orchestral music and the arts is limited. The Omaha Symphony annually provides education and community programs to more than 45,000 students, teachers, and community members throughout Nebraska and Iowa. Members of the Council Bluffs Guild of the Omaha Symphony assist in the Omaha Symphony’s educational endeavors through volunteering, fundraising, and providing support to musicians.
