The Los Angeles Philharmonic has named KAREN STURGES as chief financial officer, effective August 10. She will oversee financial, information technology, and office administration functions. Sturges goes to the orchestra from Endeavor Content, where she was senior vice president and head of finance. She has held senior financial roles in the entertainment industry including senior vice president and chief financial officer for global television distribution at NBCUniversal; vice president for financial planning and analysis at WarnerBros Entertainment; and executive director for finance at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Sturges earned a bachelor of accounting degree and a master of business administration degree, with a dual emphasis on finance and information systems, from the University of Southern California. She began her career in auditing at Arthur Andersen, where she earned her CPA, before being recruited to Disney as part of a management training program and moving to Sony Pictures Entertainment in senior finance roles in the television distribution business.
