The third “International Symposium: Women Conductors” will take place online from September 16 to 20. The organization promotes cultural policies for increased participation and equal opportunities for women in music. The symposium states that 300 women conductors, composers, and educators from around the world are participating. Panels on Friday, September 18 and Sunday, September 20 will focus on women conductors in the U.S. “Iconic Women of the Podium,” on Friday, 3:00-4:30pm ET, will be hosted by Ligia Amadio and moderated by Antonia Joy Wilson, with panelists including ​JoAnn Falletta, Tania León, Lidiya Yankovskaya, and ​Diane Wittry. “Trend Setters of the Podium,” on Sunday, 1:00-2:30pm ET, also hosted by Ligia Amadio and moderated by Antonia Joy Wilson, will feature panelists Alexandra Arrieche, Beverly Everett, Kalena Bovell, Tara Simoncic, Fernanda Lastra, and Elizabeth Askren.
