Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, a historic house museum in Akron, Ohio, “is partnering with the Akron Symphony Orchestra during the orchestra’s Interlude Season with a Sept. 19 performance by the husband-and-wife duo of Cory and Ann Smith,” writes Kerry Clawson in Wednesday’s (9/16) Akron Beacon Journal (OH). “Cory (violin) and Ann (viola) will [perform] for guests taking the self-guided Manor House tour. Masks and social distancing are required in the Manor House and all indoor spaces of Stan Hywet. The orchestra’s Interlude Season, created during the pandemic, has musicians appearing in small ensembles throughout the community…. ASO Interlude also is partnering with Akron Art Museum, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Akron Public Schools, Akron-Summit County Public Library, the Akron Zoo, International Institute of Akron, Jilly’s Music Room, Love Akron, Mustard Seed Market & Café, Summa Health, Summit County Historical Society and Tuesday Musical Association…. In another Akron Symphony happening this week, viola player Jerry Miskell was special guest for an ASO Conversation Tuesday afternoon. Miskell, who has been a member of the Orchestra since 1989, talked about his musical journey and shared stories of his time with the orchestra. The interview is available on the Akron Symphony YouTube channel.”
