Musicians from the Boise Philharmonic will perform six free chamber concerts in downtown Boise, Idaho on October 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Small ensembles of musicians from the orchestra will perform in what is being dubbed a “Community Takeover” at locations including Main Marketplace, the restaurant/bar BACON, Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial, Freak Alley Gallery, Julia Davis Park bandshell, and the Grove Plaza. Musicians will be distanced from audiences and will be masked wherever possible, says Music Director Eric Garcia. “The Boise Phil belongs to the community and we want to be as accessible as possible,” said Executive Director Laura Reynolds. “So, we’re bringing the music out of the concert hall and into the places where we all live, work and play. Our hope is that these mini-community concerts bring everyone a moment of happiness and joy.”
