PETER HUSSELL has been named chief development officer at the Cleveland Institute of Music, after serving as interim director of development for the past six months. Hussell most recently served as vice president of development at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, where he and the development team raised more than $9 million annually, contributing to a $4 million reduction in debt, while also adding $3 million to the permanent endowment. Hussell has held roles at leading institutions in Canada and the United States, including the Canadian Opera Company, Sarasota Opera, and the Toronto International Film Festival. Over the past fifteen years, Hussell has contributed to teams raising over $100 million for operations, endowment, and capital projects. Hussell studied at the University of Waterloo in Canada, specializing in cultural management and fine arts.
