On October 29, the Louisville Orchestra’s pre-recorded performance of music by Igor Stravinsky will be presented during a free event at the Sauerbeck Family Drive-In theater, led by Music Director Teddy Abrams. Repertoire at the concert—shown onscreen for a maximum capacity of 250 cars and their occupants—will include Stravinsky chamber works including the Octet, Concerto in E-Flat (“Dumbarton Oaks”), Firebird Suite, Fanfare for a New Theatre, Three Pieces for String Quartet, Song Without a Name, and Ragtime, featuring cimbalom player Chester Englander. Following the performance, there will be a screening of the 2011 film Midnight in Paris. In addition to the free drive-in event, the Stravinsky concert is also being offered as a ticketed, on-demand stream beginning on October 30, as part of the orchestra’s “Louisville Orchestra Virtual Edition” this fall.
