Ohio’s Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA)—the umbrella organization for the Toledo Symphony and Toledo Ballet—has released streaming apps for Apple TV and Roku devices, modeled after Netflix and Hulu online channels. The TAPA app will allow ticketholders to view performances and virtual content on large television screens; there are also versions for desktop and mobile browsers. The apps are free; viewers purchase content to watch performances live or to rent after events have occurred. The orchestra is continuing its Toledo SymphonyLabTM weekly radio podcast, a weekly half-hour show about classical music hosted by WGTE FM 91’s Brad Cresswell. Among those featured on the podcasts are TSO President and CEO Zak Vassar, Music Director Alain Trudel, Principal Second Violin and Artistic Administrator Merwin Siu, and Director of Marketing and Communications Vanessa Gardner.
