On December 10 at 7 p.m. ET, the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra will launch the world premiere of Leanna Primiani’s Gaudete for Orchestra, performed on WTRF-CBS and on WTRF.com. The seven-minute work is “based on one of the oldest Christmas carols, Gaudete et exsultate (Rejoice and Be Glad),” Primiani says in a press release. “The piece weaves in all the familiar favorites. It was great fun for me to focus on something so joyful.” On December 7 at 7 p.m. ET, Primiani will participate in a streamed conversation with Music Director John Devlin. The “A Not-So-Silent Night with the WSO” program, performed at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Wheeling, West Virginia, will include other holiday music in addition to the Primiani premiere.
