The South Bend Symphony Orchestra is collaborating with the South Bend Civic Theatre and other area performing arts groups to produce an online holiday concert, set to premiere on Dec. 19 at the South Bend Symphony and South Bend City Theatre websites. The video presentation, “Light One Candle: A South Bend Community Celebration,” will explore traditions of five cultural groups—Jewish, African American, Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, Latinx and Eastern Orthodox—through dance, storytelling, and symphonic music. The public is invited to submit videos of themselves and loved ones holding a single candle to be included in the video presentation. Video submissions should be five to seven seconds in length, with no audio, and are due by December 12 at sbct.org/candlevideo. The holiday video will remain posted until January 6.
