On January 9, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will perform its second concert at Exploria Stadium, which is home to Orlando’s resident soccer teams and hosted the orchestra’s socially distanced season-opening concert in September with violinist Simone Porter. The January concert will feature the orchestra and pianist Yuja Wang, with repertoire to include the Overture to Ethel Smyth’s opera The Wreckers, Brahms’s Symphony No. 4, and Richard Strauss’s Burleske, led by Music Director Eric Jacobsen. Safety protocols will be enforced, with face masks and temperature checks required to enter the stadium; attendance will be limited per CDC and state recommendations. The stadium will implement thorough cleaning and sanitation measures throughout the space, and provide multiple hand sanitation stations for all in attendance.
