Concert Artists Guild (CAG) has announced details of its next Victor Elmaleh Competition, which in 2021 will take place virtually, as was also the case with the 2020 competition. The annual competition, which normally takes place in the fall, will be moved to spring of 2021 in coordination with London-based Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT), the competition’s European partner. Applications will be accepted beginning on February 1; competition winners will be announced on June 8. Grand-prize winners receive international management (Americas and Europe) jointly with CAG and YCAT; performances at Merkin Concert Hall in New York and Wigmore Hall in London; and participation in CAG’s new leadership-development program. Winners of the competition’s Ambassador Prize (awarded “to a contestant from the semifinal and/or final round who has demonstrated a clear dedication to making an impact in the world through music”) will receive North American management with CAG; a New York debut performance; and participation in CAG’s leadership-development program.
