Nine musicians from the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra will be featured on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, airing on Wednesday, January 20, at 10:35 pm CT. CYSO musicians will join composer/producer/keyboardist Peter CottonTale (Peter Wilkins) in a performance of his song “Together” featuring Chance the Rapper and Cynthia Erivo. (Wilkins is the keyboard player in Chance’s band the Social Experiment.) The performance features an all-Black ensemble made up of 30 musicians and singers from CYSO and Chicago Children’s Choir. “Together” employed over 80 Black artists, engineers, producers, side musicians, and music executives. The nine musicians from four CYSO ensembles are: AidanSinclair Daniels, Bryce Kayser, and Jonathan Miller from the Symphony Orchestra; Nathaniel Scott and Xavier Perry from the Philharmonic Orchestra; Evan Campbell and Claire Stroger from Accelerando Strings; and Sloan D’Souza and Ari Daniels from the Debut Orchestra.
