Several of the country’s most accomplished young classical musicians will be showcased on a streamed performance from the National YoungArts Foundation at 8 pm ET on Thursday, January 28. The virtual event is the culmination of the foundation’s January 3–9 National YoungArts Week, during which selected musicians age 15-18 participated in an intensive program of online classes and workshops with leaders in their fields including clarinetist Anthony McGill, composer Pascal Le Boeuf, conductor Gerard Schwarz, and audio engineer Patrick Smith. The participating young musicians also recorded and developed work for National YoungArts Week. Other streamed events during the week focus on young vocalists, jazz musicians, and visual artists. Based in Miami, Florida, National YoungArts Foundation identifies accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts, and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities.
