Bach, Clair Omar Muster, Toshiro Mayuzumi, and Paul Creston. Other programs will feature Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat Major; Valerie Coleman’s Umoja for String Quartet; the Concert Fantasy on Theme from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess (arr. Frolov); Franck’s Sonata in A Major and Mozart’s Sonata in E Minor, K. 304 for violin and piano; and Astor Piazzolla’s Five Tango Sensations. The Colour of Music Festival highlights Black classical composers and performers from the U.S. and internationally; Lee Pringle is founder and artistic director of the organization, founded in 2013.
